Our mission

We believe in the potential for brilliance that resides in all human beings. Given the chance, most people are eager to grow.

It’s an amazing feeling: To see people wake up, understand their full potential, take charge of their lives and grow. Unlocking this unlimited growth potential is what drives us. Not only can we make a lasting difference to people’s lives, but to the success of their employers and the wellbeing of entire communities.

Every day, we help thousands of ambitious, curious people to learn, develop and find meaningful career opportunities. We constantly strive to find innovative new technologies and processes to support our customers with great talent. As people make things grow, our mission is to make people grow.

We are builders. We get things done and turn dreams into reality. We enable brands of all shapes and sizes to be their unique very best.

Working for a better future

We want to be successful in business, and at the same time have a positive impact on people, society, and the planet.

For Akind companies, this starts at home. We treat people with respect, behave ethically, and contribute to economic development. Here you can download and read our Sustainability Report.

Our planet

We are committed to act on the threat of climate change and our environmental work is driven by a sense of urgency. We will create a reality where we and our planet coexist in a sustainable way. Our goal is to become a climate-positive business. This will take time, hard work and creativity, but with a strong sustainability strategy, clear goals, and dedication we know it is possible. This journey will strengthen us as a company and set a good example for others to follow.

In 2023, Akind committed to the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) to further reinforce our commitment to the environment.

Community engagement

We believe that equal opportunities, education and having a job is the foundation for people to grow. It improves people’s lives, boosts health, and creates more stable communities. It strengthens the prospect of earning a living and being economically self-sufficient. It generates development that is sustainable over time.

Akind engages in the local communities where we operate as well as in an international context. We do this in different ways – through donations, volunteer work or pro bono engagements. We focus these efforts on our areas of expertise:

  • Education
  • Decent jobs & labor market
  • EDI (Equity, Diversity, Inclusion)

These areas are all part of the UN 17 global goals for sustainable development.

Supporting Zambia to meet UN goals

Since 2004, we are partnering with Response Network, an NGO based in Livingstone, Zambia. The organization takes a “self-help” approach to support people and communities in rural areas to build confidence, knowledge and improve their life situations. This is achieved through various programs. Akind’s funding is mainly pointed at projects that aim to give children access to the human right of basic education.
